Our Story

The history of Ballard Asphalt dates back to the early 1980s when Steve Ballard, along with his father-in-law Chris "Red" Hargens, started sealcoating, striping, and sweeping parking lots on weekends. As the business grew, Steve and his wife Kathy took over the operation in 1982. Over the years, we have continued to expand our services to include crack filling, patching, and paving.

Our Services

At Ballard Asphalt, we understand that every property has unique needs, and we strive to provide a wide range of services to meet those needs. Our services include:

• Paving: We work closely with engineers and surveyors to ensure that your pavement is laid with precision and meets the required specifications for proper drainage and mat thickness.
• Crack Filling: We fill cracks up to a quarter inch wide to prevent water from eroding the base under your pavement and to prevent ice from expanding in the cracks during the winter months.
• Seal Coating: We recommend applying two coats of black sealer after crack filling to improve curb appeal, fill and seal cracks, and seal small cracks that are just beginning to form.
• Striping: We can retouch your existing layout or paint lines from a custom blueprint you provide. We also work with you to design your layout for maximum occupancy, efficiency, and accessibility.
• Overlay: For surfaces with widespread "alligator" or "spiderweb" cracking, we offer asphalt overlay services to provide a fresh, smooth pavement at a fraction of the cost of removing and replacing your existing asphalt.
• Patching: We repair small areas of damaged asphalt by removing and replacing the existing asphalt, and recommend filling any cracks and sealcoating the surrounding surface to ensure the longevity of the patch.
• Milling: We use an asphalt cold planer to grind asphalt down to allow room for an overlay that will be flush with existing gutters.
